My Garden🌱 in July
Welcome to my blog
Hello #HivegardenI’m sharing my monthly garden report with you. Amid a lot of anxiety and stress, I’ve been working in my garden as a way to pass the time and take my mind off social media following the disaster caused by the twin earthquakes in my country. Although there was no damage in my city—since it’s far from the epicenter, the impact was minor—the central region was devastated.
This weekend, my husband and I set out to prune the second plant of pink ixora.
I also took several photos of the flowers on my plants. Although they’ve been affected by high temperatures—because the weather has been very hot and dry, with very little rain—there have been strong, hurricane-force winds that have severely damaged the leaves and knocked over the planters on the ground every afternoon.
Gardening is wonderful, and since plants are living things, we must give them daily attention. To ensure they thrive over time, we must prune, water, apply compost, fertilize, and control pests and insects. It’s also an ideal form of therapy to take our minds off our stressful lives.
In my garden, there are plants like ixoras, cayenas, and hibiscus🌺, trinitarias and bougainvillea, various types of hearts, “tu y yo,” and lilies. I’ve loved plants since I was a child, and now in my new home, the garden is divided into an inner courtyard where I keep the plants shown in the photos to protect them from the intense sun and strong wind.
When I notice a sick plant, I get quite worried, so I prepare a solution using organic products and cut away the infected parts, treating them with ground cinnamon as a disinfectant.
Well my #HiveGarden friends, have a nice day!
