Evergreen ocimum

Evergreen ocimum which is also known as clove basil, African basil, and in Hawaii as wild basil, is a species of basil in the family of Lamiaceae. It’s native to Africa, Madagascar, Southern Asia & the Bismarck Archipelago & naturalized in Polynesia, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama, West Indies, Brazil & Bolivia.

It’s used in the treatment of various diseases such as diabetes, cancer, inflammation, anaemia, diarrhoea, pains, and fungal and bacterial infections.

Recent research has shown that ocimum gratissimum is used as medication for persons living with AIDS & the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) (Ugbogu et al., 2021). Scent leaves can be used to stop tomach aches, dysentery, diarrhea, and vomiting.
It also helps in prompt food digestion
