Escape is what saves you

Staying in Manila for nearly 4 years…

I remember when I first came here with only an electric fan, a few clothes, and a bed to sleep in and this dream.

I never thought I would make the trip to leave my home in Cebu and find peace, comfort and solace here in Manila.

When I first got this option, it terrified me because I did not know a single person there. – no buddies, – no family, neither connections. Just me, staying alive in a new city that was alien and oppressive.

I had nights where I doubted myself, days when I tried to quit before the craziness of life kicked in harder than ever and moments were all alone is what it felt like. Yet, in just 4 years time I was able to stand on my own. I found comfort and happiness. What it made you do, though — is to heal, grow and be strong.

I so often forget how far I've come in wanting more.

But, I remembered... this life I'm living now was the exact life I'd prayed and dreamed about 4 years back.

We get so involved in the chase of achieving the next goal that sometimes we forget to rest.

For those of you still holding back on stepping outside your comfort zone, this is the sign to do it! But does you think catastrophic is from Oct 2023.

You will never know how strong you are until the moment when take that first step.

Occasionally, the escape is what saves you.

And frankly, I'm proud of myself for being here.
