Posting for the sake of posting

Is this thing on?

Well, I don't have much to talk about. But Hive account@acidyo prodded me on Discord to post whatever. So here we are. Me just rambling about my recent days.

A few weeks ago, I hosted deathwing at my home for a few days, we went for a swim and walked a few times at the beach. Now, that I talk about it. Wow it has been a few weeks already, time really do fly.

Other than that I have been playing TBH: Task Bar Hero, that new free to play idle game on Steam.

I think I've made decent progress, Steam market being unavailable at the moment is a bummer though.

I think I could've sold some of those immortal items but alas. I am grinding gold to unlock and level up more runes. There is some good things to be learned from this game for idle game economies.

AI Stuff

I've tried Talemate, a SillyTavern alternative. It looks promising, it does need to cook more. And, oh boy, it is so much expensive to run than SillyTavern. If you don't have cash to burn on your roleplay smut, I don't recommend.

I am not thrilled with Claude Fable, and once again I am proven right when it comes to my hunch with Anthropic. They are the most insidious of the AI labs. When it comes to OpenAI, they are openly bad. But with Anthropic, they play to fool the masses that they are the good guys. Do not fall for it.

Claude Fable will actively degrade performance, modify your prompt and feed you misinformation without notification if you are working on AI. For a company that screams about "ethics" that is a very unethical thing to do.

As always, I wish open-weight consumer models catch up the frontier models so that we do not have to listen to these companies on what we can or can't do. But that is wishful thinking. (Of course, current open-weight models are as good as the frontier models of 6 months ago.)

But my discussion with Hive account@starkerz on discord leads me to believe that I need to talk more about AI in a future post. (Maybe I'll double post today. A first for me.) Because it seems people are still behind the uptake of what AI is, where it is going and where we will be in the next year.
