Pollença
Pollença, an enchanting town in north of Mallorca, offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and stunning natural beauty. Tucked away from the busier coastal resorts, it truly feels authentically Mallorcan, with its narrow, cobbled streets, traditional stone houses, and the picturesque main square, Plaça Major. The town is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, from the majestic Serra de Tramuntana mountains (which we will hike soon) to the beautiful nearby bays of Port de Pollença and Cala Sant Vicenç.
Pollença's Calvari steps are a real landmark. This grand stone staircase, all 365 steps of it, winds its way up to a small chapel atop a hill. Taking the climb offers some pretty amazing views over the town and out to the bay.
It's a popular spot, not just for the vistas but also for the atmosphere. You'll often see people taking their time, pausing to catch their breath and soak it all in. During Holy Week, it transforms into a significant processional route, adding another layer to its history. Whether you're looking for a bit of exercise, a stunning photo opportunity, or a glimpse into local traditions, the Calvari steps are a truly memorable part of Pollença.
Hopefully i can take some good shots on my next hike to share with you!
Take care and see you soon!
