Failure is a stepping stone to success.

I see failure as a stepping stone to every individual success. Failure is part of life. I used to tell my students that just because they failed today does not mean that is the end of the world.

I remembered telling one of my students, who was supposed to travel to a world championship but failed at the last round. He has put in so much effort and still failed. I let him understand the fact that life is not a fairy tale; sometimes you have to fail.

You only get to know a lot when you fail; in fact, in life people should get to fail sometimes. This will strengthen them and make them see life a better way; there are so many things failure teaches: discipline. Since one of my students failed, he cried and was sad for some time, but then he got back to training, and we kept training.

He now trains more than he used to do; he is now more consistent in what I teach him. Since the beginning of this year, he has been winning back to back. As we speak, he is traveling to Cairo for the All-African University Games. He was only able to achieve that far because of his commitments; he didn't allow the failure to weigh him down.

Some people failed once and just gave up on their dreams, their goals. We have heard stories about people who failed multiple times and still continue because he believes in himself, at the long run, he makes it.

Failure will teach you how to appreciate life and everything you see, it will teach discipline, it will teach self-control, and so on. If you keep winning and you do not fail, you will not value what you have.

I could remember how one of my lecturer used to treat me back then, he was expecting more from me but I used to disappoint him, he hated me for that and wouldn't treat me well, I thought it's over but I was later motivated because I believe just because you failed once doesn't determine your journey of life. As time went on, I started doing well, and today we are now colleagues, and he used to remind me how he motivated me back then when I wasn't doing well.

In summary, failure doesn't determine your life, and because you failed once does not mean that is the end for you. Failure is just a mistake to learn from.
