A very beautiful morning to us all and welcome to a brand new day. It's a Sunday morning and indeed a day of rest, I am so happy that I can finally get some rest this day because we have been engaged in a long series of activities this week.

We started with weeding some portions of our farms and different crops covered in grasses before moving back into the rice farm to continue more work.

Yesterday I shared with us the processes of how to plant and nurse rice grains in the because we would be needing to transplant a whole lot of rice seedlings, it's better to pour more seedlings in the farm before it gets to late

But here is the good news, the first sets of corn for this year is now finally ready for harvest. It was as if we forgot about this corn ever since we have involved ourselves in other activities, but now the corns are ready for consumption.

If you desire to eat some fresh corns with us, it's time to get down and start coming with us to harvest.

Whenever the corn stalk are fully riped you will see that even the hair by this tips will dry off. And for the she fleshy shell is already drying off as well.

The first corn for the year is not usually processed into anything yet. They are often harvested and sold in town for eating them fresh. It is either you boil or have them roasted and eaten. At this time there is usually not enough sunlight to dry the corn vrains and trying to sun dry or process them would be a wasted effort. It is the second session corn plantings that are usually processed and sundried before being put into storage.

For this very one we are just going to harvest, eat out of it with our families then sell the rest of the town women who will roast and sell in the street. Almost everyone is familiar with eating fresh corn and it often serve the purpose of keeping hunger away as one of the first set of harvested crops each year.

About 14 days ago we were here earlier, and saw that there were matured enough but our paths didnt cross this side, but now these corns must be harvested tha week or else the grains will begin to dry and become too hardened go be roasted and eating, that's one of the importance of prompt harvest for any crops. Vegetables and some grains will toughen out and become to hard to be eaten soft if not harvested and taken home on time.
