Farm work for the day, poor habit of using artificial ripener
Hello Hive
A beautiful morning to us all. I do hope that we had a good night rest and a sound sleep. I'm waking up really late this time around because the weather was cold after a light shower making me to oversleep..
I'm waking up with slight body pain today which may also be the reason I overslept, sometimes the body just needs some rest and we cannot deny it.
Yesterday was another intense time of Activities in the farm and for this time you can see that we are planting various crops and harvesting the ones that are ready.
We have hoped that these peppers will hasten up with ripening so that a good amount of it can be harvested for sale at the market but this season we have witnesses some various categories of challenges with our peppers.
From how that the peppers were growing slowly at the begining when they were planted and now another challenge is regarding them not ripening on time.
Take a look at how all of these peppers are looking green even after they are borne some fruits which we are really expectants that these fruits should be mostly ripen by now.
If peppers do not rippen up collectively and on time, it makes it very very difficult to make profit from such. This means that harvest is always scanty each time.
Like now whenever we get to farm we pick up the littles ones that are ready which might just be a handful that cannot be sold. You cant leave ripped pepper like these ones in the farm for long, birds will eat them up and they may get rotten when left unplugged. Overipped 🌶️ get ripen within the shortest time hence they need to plug them.
We have had too many challenges growing pepper this year compared to the vegetables that have been producing massively and harvest has been continuous.
Alot of vegetables have been bought from us and sold at the market and you can see the massive quantity of lettuce that have been planted as well. We will definitely look into the difficulties we have encountered with growing pepper and think of how to work on them better next time.
It will be a really poor habit to us an artificial ripener as it is important to watch out for our health and grow healthy crops.
I have seen a lot of farmers harvest unripe fruits and use artificial ripeners on then just to hasten ripening for them to sell on time and make their money, most of these people forget how harmful too much of these chemicals can be to our health.
