Looking Back With Gratitude

If there's one habit I'm trying to hold, it is gratitude. Life is full of ups and downs, it has to wait of throwing unexpected challenges at us which quickly makes us to focus mainly on things that are going wrong, forgetting the things that are going right as well.

But whenever I pause and count my blessings, I realize that I have more to be thankful for, than i sometimes acknowledge.

The first thing I'm grateful for, Gift of Life. This may sound like the most obvious answer, but it's the one that means most to me. Every morning, whenever I wake up, I remind myself that life itself is best blessing. There are people who had plans for today but they never had chance to see it. Simply being alive means i still have a chance to learn, to improve , correct my mistake and keep chasing the future I hope for.

Life hasn't been easy, there have been moments uncertainties, disappointments and days when I wonder how things are going to turn out. Yet somehow each challenge has made me stronger and taught me several valuable things.

That's why I don't take life for granted. As far as there's life, there's still hope .

Another thing I'm so grateful for is the gift of My siblings. They have been my support system more than I can count. What makes me grateful isn't just that we're related, but they've always shown me true love through their actions.

I remember last year, I was struggling financially and honestly didn't know how I was going to pay my house rent. It was one of those moments that left me at the middle. When I finally reached out to them, they didn't interrogate me, or made me feel less, instead they contributed money and helped me pay the rent.

I still remembers it, and I wouldn't be more grateful. They made me realize that I wasn't alone.

It's easy to say we're family, but it's completely different thing to have people who genuinely come through for you whenever you need them. Whether family or not. Because some family doesn't really care about others.

And I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to return the same Kindness whenever they need me.

The third one is the Opportunity to Learn and Grow. I have realized that growth rarely happens when life is comfortable. Some of the lessons that shaped me today came from experiences I never wanted to go through. I have made several mistakes and watched some of my plans fall apart, those moments felt like a setback but looking back now, I realized that they were my greatest teachers. They helped me to become more patient and understand that everyone is carrying burden that I might not see.

For that reason, I'm grateful not only for my successes but also for the lessons I learned during my struggles.

What Practicing Gratitude Has Taught Me

Practicing gratitude has made me to stop complaining about things I can not control and appreciate the ones I have. It has made me become kinder with my words and more patient with people's imperfections. It has made me to appreciate the little things people do for me and has strengthened my relationship with family and friends.

At the end of the day, there will always be something we wish had gone differently, but there will also be something worth saying "Thank you" for.

For me, one of those blessings will always be my siblings . Their love and support reminded me that even in my lowest moment, I was never alone.
