It's that time...
This time of year it is easy to start turning inward as darkness starts to take over the light of the sun. I find it necessary to start to turn my active routine down a few notches, bringing in slower movement, more meditation and healthy treats that nourish my body.
As I turn inward, I see that my mind is on over drive. The to-do's are overwhelming, my obligations take over my schedule and all I want to do is eat left over halloween candy and commit to my holiday/winter body even though it's early November. What do I turn to keep my disposition positive? How do I keep up my energy up while the world outside seems to be slowing down?
I roll out my mat. The hardest part is showing up. I practice. I contemplate. The mantra comes to me, I am confident and I see clearly. I use this mantra the rest of the week to keep me going. As these words filter into my days they bring me strength and perspective. The world continues to turn, everything has an ebb and a flow.
Ebb and flow are part of life. As I head into fall, I give myself permission to slow down, turn in and settle into a kind and gentle way of being. I stop being so hard on myself. I dismiss all negative thoughts. I surrender and then I surrender some more.
