Cover me Strong - LOH #259

It's been a while since I have gotten my attention and watched an anime. The last anime that I've watched with my full attention was Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle Movie, which was released a couple of months ago. Since I gave birth and became a full-time mom, I rarely have time to watch anime nowadays. Now, we are trying to introduce Kimetsu No Yaiba to our 4-year-old daughter, and honestly, she kind of liked it. Of course, we don't let her watch too brutal scenes.

Here are some animes that have been stuck in my hard drive for years now.

As for this week's entry to our LOH community:

The anime and manga style of entertainment has become very popular in the western world. What anime or manga character(s) do you best identify with, and why?

If I were to describe myself as a female anime character, I would say that I am an Annie Leonhart from Shingeki No Kyojin (Attack on Titan) in some way.

Annie Leonhart is a female soldier who finished fourth in the 104th Training Corps and later joined the interior Military Police Brigade. She is well-known for her fighting abilities, particularly in hand-to-hand combat, as she defeated Eren and Reiner during her training.

She is described as socially withdrawn, emotionless, and painfully blunt, with little sense of humor. She is a mysterious person who keeps to herself and is difficult to approach. However, she shows high levels of skill and intelligence in problem-solving and is independent, making her suited for solo missions.

I see myself as an Annie Leonhart. Aside from the blonde hair, she's strong whenever she needs to be. She was trained to be a soldier with a tough heart, which required her to suppress her emotions in order to complete a mission. I, on the other hand, grew up as one of the physically capable among my 3 sisters. Throughout my childhood, I was unable to express my emotions within my family, which made me quiet, mysterious, lacking a sense of humor, difficult to approach, and always dependent on where and how the water flowed.

I also used to hide my feelings by doing other physical activities that would make me feel tired. One would be joining our volleyball team so I can somehow gain some skill other than forcing myself to be the smartest person they would think I can be. Two is learning how to play a guitar on my own.
These two skills became my escape, whether it's from my family or emotions that I don't want to deal with.

I also learned how to adapt to situations depending on the people around you. Know when and where to listen, speak up, and take action.

There were also times that I felt defeated or lost, wanting myself to be just alone or hide from the world. But the feeling of defeat doesn't make my world stop. I will need to face it head-on and fight, be strong to win.

There are a lot of new seasons of anime that I used to watch, and I would be happy to watch new series too. Don't be shy to comment or recommend some. :)
