Each time I see sunflowers, I'm always happy. Whenever I'm weak or I've probably lost hope on something and I came across Sunflowers, I feel relieved, encouraged and stronger. I usually have these feelings because of the amazing meanings sunflowers imply to me. To me sunflowers represent strength, uniqueness and brightness because wherever they are, they grow tall and taller among other plants, they always stand out in the midst of others and their beautiful colours that shine in the sun always make them unique among crowds of different plants. I just love #sunflowers and I appreciate the wonderful works of nature everytime I see them. If you think you know virtually everything about sunflowers, you are wrong! Trust me, there are so many things you are yet to know about them.

Amazing facts about #sunflowers

  1. There are about 70 different
    species of Sunflowers of the
    genus #Helianthus.
  2. Not all sunflowers are
    yellow. Their colours range
    from yellow, red to purple.
  3. Sunflowers can range in
    height. There are tall
    sunflowers and and dwarf
    sunflowers respectively.
    Helianthus annus is a
    typical example of a tall
    sunflower. Tall sunflowers
can grow up to about 16feet
    or more in special
    circumstances while dwarf
    sunflowers do not grow
    taller than 3feet. The
    tallest sunflower is over
    30feet tall
    . Isn't that
    amazing?
  4. Young sunflowers track the
    sun(heliotropism).
    Scientists reveal sunflowers
    have circadian rhythm. A
    young sunflower's face
    follows the sun from sunrise
    to sunset everyday and
    repeats the cycle until
    maturity.
  5. Mature sunflowers face east.
    As a result,they can attract
    up to 5 times more
    pollinators because they
    warm up faster than westward
    facing plants.
  6. Sunflower oils can reduce
    cholesterol levels in the
    body.
  7. Sunflowers have different
    symbols and meanings. They
    are connected to the myth;
    #Apollo(God of sun) and
    #Clytie,his lover.
  8. Sunflower oil has an anti-
    inflammatory effect.
  9. There are thousands of tiny
    flowers that constitute a
    sunflower's head. This
    feature is a primary feature
    of the #Astereacea family.
    Hence, sunflower is a
    typical example.
  10. Sunflowers can pollinate
    themselves(self
    pollination). In the absence
    of agents of pollination
    such as insects,the stigma
    can twist around to reach
    its own pollen.
  11. Sunflowers can be cuddly in
    nature such as the

  12. Sunflowers originally
    served
    as a source food thousands
    of years ago.

There's so much more you need to know about sunflowers. They are just amazing.
