I should have felt remorse about my actions. I should have felt sorry for making such a blunder. I should have been very sorry for what I did. The reaction from me should have: Oh sir, I'm so sorry. I was not intending that it will happen. It was a mistake! That the honorable reaction expected of a boy who had been well groomed. But instead of that, what did I do? Foolish laughter. Yes, foolish laughter! I took the elderly person I mistakenly farted for for granted. I took him as my maid when he already had children who were older than I. What an insult!

In my culture, as well as I know it is for other cultures of the world, we are trained to respect elders. A child or someone younger dare not sit before someone older than him and pass out the polluted gas. No, you don't fart for an elder. If you do that you will be termed as unrespectful. It is customary to control yourself when you are with those who are older than you.

I was not supposed to laugh over it, but I laughed. That was insane. Even after I had realized that what I had done had upsetted others, I still felt proud not to apologize. That was very wrong of me. Every time I remember that incident, I usually think that it never happened. Hmmm, what a dishonourable thing to do.

Wisdom, sometimes can be far from a person. There are times that we behave foolishly or should I say we are deficient in the right action to take. We are not altogether foolish but somehow, we just did what we are not supposed to do. It is not that we are in the attitude of doing bad, but something, somehow gets out of hand and we misbehave. It had happened to me before. I don't know whether it has happened to you before. I once laughed when I should have felt remorse and pleaded sorry.
