A wagon maker, a bootlegger, and a Hollywood comedy!

A walk through Chicago's Old Town Triangle District is a bit like stepping back in time.

This house has a very diverse history.

This example of working class housing from 1874 was built by wagon maker Theodore Becking. The families 3 chdren were raised there and his widow lived in the home until her death in 1888.

In 1932 the cottage was at the center of Chicago's Prohibition history when bootlegger Sam Mule, a rival of Al Capone, was fatally shot through it's front window,

Decades later Hollywood stars Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson made it their tempory hone while filming the 1986 comedy 'Hellcats'.

Today, the cottage and its English-inspired garden features over 100 rose bushes.

I don't know much about these next homes, but found them quite charming!

Hope you enjoyed the photo tour!
