Kids' Creativity Joy- Another Batch of Beautiful Photos by a wee one who blesses my life

This lovely little friend of mine really likes to make fotos and it makes me happy as well, to see her being creative; she shines when she is showing off what she's made.

It's a big moment in our lives... With a lot of great things happening and a lot of challenges at the same time.

I'm making great efforts to be a good Tia.

And yet, I've failed my young friend in an important way.

There's a conversation to have with her.

An apology for me to make.

And I hope she will understand and forgive me.

There's a lot to balance in my life.

I've only known her for a short while.. Her mom and I knew right away that we are sisters in spirit.

And she trusted me, and asked me to support her and help her to feel safe, to BE safe.

I'm going to do better. Now I know that she really needed me.

I'm going to make sure she is protected.

I apologize for being vague... But it's not mine to talk about in truth. I can only write about my own feelings and experience.

We'll make more photos together and individually.

It's not that I didn't believe that she had a true reason for wanting me to stay with her, when this other adult was around.

I will always believe a child over an adult or any of my own doubts

I'm tempted to make excuses.

I won't bother. I'll just do better.

And we have more support now. Family support, legal support and we have solutions.

And I'm still learning. It surprises me sometimes

To be learning again and again, to trust myself and know what I know. If you know what I mean. You see, I saw for myself and I felt uncomfortable, repulsed really by this man and how he was with his own precious little girl. And I didn't want to believe it. I thought that I was misunderstanding... The culture here is different...blablafknbla.
I'm going to apologize now, to my new friend. And I hope I still get to be a Tia de Confianza.

A mi pequeña y encantadora amiga le encanta hacer fotos y a mí también me hace feliz verla tan creativa; se le iluminan los ojos cuando muestra lo que ha hecho.

Es un momento importante en nuestras vidas... Están pasando muchas cosas buenas y, al mismo tiempo, hay muchos retos.

Estoy haciendo un gran esfuerzo por ser una buena tía.

Y, sin embargo, le he fallado a mi joven amiga en algo importante.

Hay una conversación que tengo que tener con ella.

Tengo que pedirle perdón.

Y espero que ella lo entienda y me perdone.

Hay muchas cosas que equilibrar en mi vida.

La conozco desde hace poco tiempo... Su madre y yo supimos enseguida que éramos hermanas en espíritu.

Y ella confió en mí y me pidió que la apoyara y la ayudara a sentirse segura, a ESTAR segura.

Voy a hacerlo mejor. Ahora sé que ella realmente me necesitaba.

Voy a asegurarme de que esté protegida.

Pido disculpas por ser tan vago... Pero, en realidad, no me corresponde a mí hablar de ello. Solo puedo escribir sobre mis propios sentimientos y experiencias.

Haremos más fotos juntos y por separado.

No es que no creyera que ella tenía una razón de peso para querer que me quedara con ella, cuando ese otro adulto estaba cerca.

Siempre creeré a un niño antes que a un adulto o a mis propias dudas.

Me siento tentado a poner excusas.

No me molestaré. Simplemente lo haré mejor.

Y ahora contamos con más apoyo. Apoyo familiar, apoyo legal y tenemos soluciones.

Y sigo aprendiendo. A veces me sorprende

aprender una y otra vez, confiar en mí misma y saber lo que sé. Si sabes a lo que me refiero. Verás, lo vi con mis propios ojos y me sentí incómoda, realmente repugnada por este hombre y por cómo trataba a su preciosa hijita. Y no quería creerlo. Pensé que lo estaba malinterpretando... La cultura aquí es diferente... blablafknbla.
Ahora voy a pedirle perdón a mi nueva amiga. Y espero seguir siendo una tía de confianza.
