Butsi - a Local Waray-waray Bread
This locally made bread is baked in an improvised oven of the native bakers here in our town. We call this "butsi" or "butchi". It has sweetened coconut inside, and is baked using coconut husks. I tried googling this bread but I couldn't find any photos or articles about how this is made.
Nowadays, there are only very few natives who are selling butsi as there are more and more commercial bakeries being established here in our town. I hope this traditional way of baking bread will be preserved.
