Finding Beauty in the Waiting - For Everything there is a season

When we first arrived at our new home, the tree standing just beyond our roofline looked completely lifeless. It was entirely bare. No vibrant green leaves and there wasn’t a single flower in sight. It stood there as a quiet, skeletal reminder of dry season, blending into the background of our unfamiliar surroundings. Unforunately, I don't have a picture of the tree when it was bare. Never thought I would be writing these personal reflection today.

During those first weeks of settling into a new place—dealing with the chaos of boxes, new routines, and the unfamiliarity of a new neighborhood—the bare tree felt a lot like our own state of transition. We were waiting to root ourselves, waiting to feel at home.

But time never stands still.

As the weeks turned into months, a quiet transformation began. Slowly, almost unnoticeable at first, tiny buds started to form. Then, seemingly all at once, the branches erupted into a breathtaking canopy of fiery red and orange blossoms. The bare tree we first met had transformed into a magnificent, blooming fire tree.

Seeing it bursting with life against the clear blue sky taught me a beautiful lesson about patience. Just because a season is dry, quiet, or seemingly barren doesn't mean growth isn't happening beneath the surface. Sometimes, the periods of absolute bareness are exactly what a life—or a tree—needs to prepare for a spectacular bloom.
