Learning how to forgive//The Old Path

Today I watched a video on YouTube from the "The Old Path" channel, called "Learning how to forgive". After watching the video, my heart felt very light. To be honest, when someone does something bad to us, we usually get angry quickly or want to teach them a lesson. But this video taught me the exact opposite.

The most surprising thing was when the video said that you should actually be happy if someone harms you! At first, I thought, how possible is this? But when I heard that this is actually an opportunity for us, I understood the point. It is beautifully explained with references to the Bible that only if we forgive others, God will forgive us.

I had never thought before that forgiving means loving yourself. When the speaker said, "Forgiving is one way to love yourself," I realized how deep the meaning of the words was! None of us is perfect; we all make mistakes. So why should we hold on to other people's mistakes? When we forgive, we actually benefit ourselves more than others.

One thing I learned from watching the video is that peace does not come from revenge. Peace comes from letting go. If you are holding a lot of anger or hurt inside, you can watch this video once. I think your perspective will change after watching it. This is a really great way to calm your soul through forgiveness.
