World Water Day; reflecting on the great impact.
The past Sunday was World Water Day. That day was an opportunity to recognise the value of water around the globe and reflect on how important it is in each of our lives.
However, for many communities, the discussion does not stop after the day is completed. After the hashtag has faded, and the awareness campaigns have ceased, the conditions of their daily reality remain the same.
For them, water is not merely a subject. It is a daily search. A search that requires time and effort and often involves making difficult decisions regarding cost, distance and health.
@WellsForAll continuously witness the power of access to clean water in transforming lives. What may have taken families hours to accomplish now takes only minutes. Children attend school regularly, and families and communities grow stronger.
This is what true change looks like. Awareness is great. Action is better. Words are good, but the actions that provide people with solutions, which are directed at meeting them "where they are", are best.
Therefore, the mission will continue. Every community should have access to clean drinking water, not just on one day per year. Clean drinking water should be available to every community on every single day.
