These photographs that I share are a few examples of what some may describe as ordinary. They represent much more than that to me. This picture of a person fetching water from a well that was drilled by the Hive blockchain shows a man doing something that many people would think is routine. However, for me it is so much more than that.

Many people see only one thing, that being a person collecting water. I see potential for all of us. I see pride. I see dignity restored. I see the community has gained access to something that was previously out of reach or difficult for them to get to. The pictures that I have taken represent the true essence of development, which is getting your basic needs met and making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and communities.

Clean water changes everything. Clean water provides people with more time to pursue their goals and dreams. Clean water helps people maintain good health. Clean water allows people to provide for their family. Clean water allows people the ability to pursue other aspects of their life and provides them with a sense of security and stability that dirty water does not. With that said, the act of fetching water for the first time for many people is no longer a burden that they feel. Rather, it is now a task that they can accomplish with ease and confidence, and that is definitely something to celebrate.

What is particularly impressive about these photographs is the fact that this was made possible through the use of the Hive blockchain technology. When technology is utilised with a specific goal in mind, it can be truly impactful. Whether it be providing support digitally or creating physical infrastructure, the Hive blockchain continues to demonstrate the potential of innovation to positively impact the world, literally.

For me these photographs are priceless. These photographs remind me why we are working towards achieving our goals and why the impact of our work is so important to me. Behind each bucket of water is a story of hope. Behind each bucket of water is a story of dignity. Behind each bucket of water is a story of community and the people that believe in creating a better future together.
