Built through struggle.
It all started when we wanted to make an impact by giving communities in need access to clean and safe drinking water. Our very first borehole was located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, and it established the core values WellsForAll still operates under today. When we began, we had vision, determination and a strong knowledge base of how critical clean water is to people's daily lives.
When I look back at our journey, I can recall many of the difficulties we encountered. Identifying the correct borehole locations, overcoming technical issues, and working with limited resources – all of these testing points challenged our commitment to making this happen. There were many uncertain times, knowing families would have access to clean drinking water continued to drive us to continue.
Clean water projects require a great deal of patience, teamwork, and trusting relationships between the communities we are serving and WellsForAll. We involved local leadership in the process, worked closely with the technical teams and pushed through every obstacle that could have prevented the project from being completed. Every obstacle we overcame only made us stronger and more determined to continue to expand our reach.
Reflecting upon the progress we have made since completing our first borehole in Ashanti is truly humbling. What began as one borehole has turned into the successful completion of 25 boreholes, each changing lives, improving health and restoring dignity in the various communities we have impacted.
We are proud to celebrate this achievement. This represents the perseverance of the entire WellsForAll team, the hard work of our volunteers and our unwavering commitment to a greater purpose than ourselves. As we celebrate 25 boreholes, we will continue to be committed to expanding our reach to even more communities and ensuring that the availability of clean drinking water becomes a reality for everyone we serve.
