A day at the beach.
Today I went to the beach. Beauty was everywhere, and it was hard not to be thankful for the chance to stop and enjoy the beauty of nature. I stood close to the waves breaking on the shore. I could hear the waves ebb and flow. It was beautiful and comforting, like music washing over me. Sometimes it is just nice to go to a place with no expectations and release worries, especially when you know you are somewhere experiencing nature. Days like this are the best. Most importantly, while I stood there entranced, I was in awe of the ocean.
What made the day even more special was everyone else. Laughter from children filled the air as they dashed up and down the beach, chasing waves and building sand castles. Friends were in groups, laughing and yelling as they tossed a volleyball back and forth. Everybody was making simple, innocent new memories in the presence of the ocean.
I went for a walk in the sand barefoot and let the sand tickle my feet as I walked slowly. Experiences like this can be shared but rarely happen! Here was an opportunity to not rush, to be present, and to reconnect with the earth. I felt a little more grounded as I connected with the earth with every gentle step, a little reminder that the healing and nourishment the earth gifts to us is when we obtain some awareness.
As the sun set and the day wound down, I indulged in the golden reflection of the sun in the water. The sky glowed a warm, inviting orange and purple. It really was magic! At that moment, I was thankful that I could appreciate that moment. It is those moments that teach us to appreciate the beauty in our everyday lives.
Overall I left the beach at dusk. Nature is and always will be, one of the best gifts here on earth, and I am thankful I get the chance to embrace it and share it with other humans as much as I can. I hope this little snippet of my day resonates with you, and you get a chance to connect with nature and breathe and see it through the lens of appreciation. A little gratitude can enlighten our daily grind.
