Today is March 20th, 2024

There are two major events happening today that are closely connected. For those who share an interest in astrology and astronomy, this commonality is not coincidental. Today, the most important celestial body, the Sun, enters Aries, which marks the start of Aries season, and it will stay there until April 19th, 2024. Those with Aries or Libra rising might already be aware or feel the upcoming Solar and Moon eclipse in their respective signs.

Today is also the Spring equinox, which already took place in my city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria at 5:06 this morning. The spring equinox brings not only an increase in daylight hours but also many spring festivals and traditions. Most of them are related to paying respect to and understanding the change of seasons and the Sun.

In Bulgaria, the spring equinox is a time of new energy, where people start working on the land, plowing, and seeding. The seeds and future crops are blessed, and it is the time to renew our relationship with Mother Nature and with ourself.

The dandelions (Taraxacum) start blooming. They are known for their many medicinal uses. Here we use them for tea mainly.
