Tutorial: Corpiño de Escamas de Fantasía (Efecto 3D)

Saludos mis hermosos y hermosas el día de hoy les comparto un tutorial donde aprenderás a crear una pieza de vestuario fantástico utilizando foami y una técnica de termoformado casero para dar volumen.

Materiales necesarios:

Foami Color plata brillante y azul turquesa con glitter.

Brasier preferiblemente blanco o de un tono claro.

Herramientas de corte: Tijeras y bolígrafo.

Calor: Una plancha para el cabello. Adhesivo: silicon al frio.

Paso a paso:

Paso 1: Diseño y Corte de las Escamas El secreto de un acabado profesional es la uniformidad.

Dibujamos una plantilla con forma de "pétalo" o escama en el reverso del foami.

Luego trazamos varias figuras aprovechando al máximo el material, yo utilice dos colores el azul turquesa y el plata.

Cortamos con cuidado todas las piezas, necesitaremos una cantidad considerable para cubrir toda la superficie.

Paso 2: Termoformado para dar Volumen Para que las escamas no se vean planas y tengan un aspecto más orgánico este proceso es rápido y fácil Pero logra un acabado increíble.

1.- Calienta tu plancha para el cabello a temperatura media.

2.- Pasa rápidamente cada escama por el calor de la plancha, asegurandonos que el lado que no tiene escarcha quede hacia abajo.

3.- Modelado manual: Mientras el material está tibio, lo presiónamos con tus dedos para crear una ligera curvatura cóncava, esto nos ayudará a darle ese efecto "inflado" o 3D que se ve en las fotos.

Paso 3: Ensamblaje sobre la Base:

Aquí es donde la pieza cobra vida, es un poco engorroso pero vale la pena.

1.- Comenzamos pegando las escamas con silicón líquido, desde la parte inferior hacia arriba.

2.- Efecto Degradado: Se Puede intercalar colores, por ejemplo, yo use el azul turquesa para la zona central o los bordes, y el plata para el cuerpo principal de la pieza.

3.- Superponemos cada fila sobre la anterior (como las tejas de un techo) para ocultar las uniones y la base de tela.

Paso 4: Detalles de Profundidad y Sombreado:

Para resaltar la textura y que las escamas resalten.

1.- Prepara un poco de pintura al frío de color negro, puedes diluirla apenas con unas gotas de agua.

2.- Con un pincel fino, añade sombras en las hendiduras o en el centro de algunas escamas clave.

3.- Esto crea un contraste visual que separa las piezas y les da un aspecto más metálico y realista.

4.- Como quiero que el brillo dure más y no se desprenda el glitter del foami, aplicamos una capa de barniz en spray transparente o una mezcla de pegamento blanco con agua al finalizar de pegar y pintar todo.

Tutorial: Fantasy Scaled Bodice (3D Effect)

Hello, everyone! Today I’m sharing a tutorial where you’ll learn how to create a fantastic costume piece using foam and a homemade thermoforming technique to add volume.

Materials needed:

Foami in shiny silver and turquoise blue with glitter.

A bra, preferably white or a light color.

Cutting tools: Scissors and a pen.

Heat: A hair straightener. Adhesive: Cold-curing silicone.

Step by step:

Step 1: Designing and Cutting the Scales The secret to a professional finish is consistency.

Draw a "petal"- or "scale"-shaped template on the back of the foam sheet.

Then we drew several shapes, making the most of the material; I used two colors: turquoise blue and silver.

Carefully cut out all the pieces; we'll need quite a few to cover the entire surface.

Step 2: Thermoforming to Add Volume This process is quick and easy, ensuring the scales don’t look flat and giving them a more organic appearance. It achieves an incredible finish.

1. Heat your hair straightener to a medium setting.

2. Quickly pass each wafer over the hot griddle, making sure the side without frosting is facing down.

3. Manual shaping: While the material is still warm, press it with your fingers to create a slight concave curve; this will help give it that "puffed-up" or 3D effect you see in the photos.

Step 3: Assembly on the Base:

This is where the piece really comes to life; it's a bit of a hassle, but it's worth it

1. Start by attaching the scales with liquid silicone, working from the bottom up.

2. Gradient Effect: You can alternate colors; for example, I used turquoise for the center or the edges, and silver for the main body of the piece.

3. Overlap each row with the one below it (like roof tiles) to hide the seams and the fabric backing.

Step 4: Depth and Shading Details:

To highlight the texture and make the scales stand out.

1. Prepare some black cold-weather paint; you can thin it with just a few drops of water.

2. Using a fine brush, add shading to the crevices or the center of some key scales.

3. This creates a visual contrast that separates the pieces and gives them a more metallic and realistic look.

4. Since I want the shine to last longer and prevent the glitter from falling off the foam, apply a coat of clear spray varnish or a mixture of white glue and water once you’ve finished gluing and painting everything.
