JoyStream - Upload, Seed, Get Paid!

JoyStream: an open source torrent client.

If you have downloaded files using torrent software before, then you will be familiar with how the process works.

• Users create a torrent file of their content
  (this can be a video,picture,game,software, anything!) and upload the torrent file for download.

• Other users can then download the file using a torrent client.

• Once downloaded, the user can choose to continue to share/seed the file online so that others may download.

So that is the basics of sharing files using torrents.

Now heres the interesting part

JoyStream has released their torrent client which includes the same basic features for downloading & uploading torrents, however users can get paid for sharing/seeding their content

The JoyStream dashboard has a simple GUI which is easy to understand.

When you start JoyStream, it will provide you with a list of a few creative common films which are available to download and then seed, just so you get the hang of it.

It comes with a built-in Bitcoin Cash(BCH) wallet, where you can send and receive BCH, and view your payment history.
It also provides you with a backup key so you may restore your funds on another device.

JoyStream did include Bitcoin (BTC) as its primary payment method, but they recentely changed to Bitcoin Cash(BCH), and there currently are no plans to switch back to Bitcoin (BTC) as of yet, but hopefully this could be added in the future.

NOTE

Joystream have created their own BCH faucet.
New users will receieve a small donation when installing the software.
