The World Is Changing, But We Can Still Choose Kindness.
Showing kindness isn't always such a big thing; it might be something as small as appreciating a person, checking in on them, advising them, and the like. And I have experienced acts of kindness a lot before.
Some years back, I met someone who was going through a lot; when I say a lot, I mean it. And while the person opened up to me, I did my best to listen and not judge; what has happened has already happened. And even though there are places that she could have done better, I pointed it out politely, advised her, and always checked in on her. I just made it a habit to message and check on her every two to three days. It was later she was telling me and appreciating me for it all; she said those simple conversations and check-ins gave her hope and helped her navigate that season of life.
I share that story just to let you know that kindness is not always expensive; it does not always have to be about money. I personally have received kindness from different people too. Not as if they solved all my problems, but they gave me hope, they listened to me, and they gave me the strength to look each day in the eyes and go through it.... And I'm grateful to them.
I don't know yet, but just like I've always done, I will try harder to reach out to people, check in on them, compliment them, send in a kind message, appreciate them, ask how they are doing, and if possible,. listen to them if they have anything to say or share. Each and every day, it is important for us to choose kindness over every other thing. Even though the world is changing and kindness seems to be fading, we can still choose to remain kind.
