How Thinking Long-Term Saved Me From Myself.

This is a very simple, yet deep topic. To me, I don't see anything related to finance as simple. It takes a lot to be able to make certain financial decisions and stand by it. And thinking about the various steps I've taken and the various decisions I've taken concerning matters that relate to finance, I would say that which stood out for me as the best is Me having self control, I mean delaying spending until it truly matters.

Back then, I'd spend money anyhow, I get this, get that, give to this, and give to that.. I don't even wait to think about the next day or the following week. And when that tomorrow or week finally comes, it meets me broke. I just like spending it as it comes, and when anything later shows up, something that really matters, I would have nothing to sort it out.

So, I've stopped thinking short term, I now think long term, I think of the coming week, coming month and even the coming year. It was that decision that made me value savings as well. You can't save if you're not careful with your spendings, you can't save if you don't have self-control over your spending. And all of those put together has helped me avoid a lot of unnecessary spending and purchases.

Now, I'm able to get and save for things that would improve me and my life, also it helped me to be at peace whenever a thing shows up unexpectedly because I know I have where to dip into. And like I'd say, I'm not rich and I don't always handle it all, I still have financial challenges just like a lot of people, but learning self-control with my finance has helped me greatly.

When we talk of making financial decisions, I still hold the belief that it's huge. Thinking about it and maybe making that decision might look easy at first, but it takes a lot to stand by it and stay glued to it.

And as simple as mine might look to you, it has helped me be a little more confident and responsible and I can say in all honesty that it is my best financial decision.
