부산의 중심지 서면은 부산의 한가운데 서면교차로를 중심으로 부전시장, 전포동, 범내골 범일시장을 주위에 있어
사람들이 많이 몰려들 수 있는 위치에 있다.
또한 젊은이들의 놀이공간과 데이트코스로 좋아 많이들 찾는다.
한 때 학원가로 유명하였고, 현재는 부산의 의료중심지라 해도 과언이다.
