Honestly, I haven't known quite what to write here lately, but there comes a time when we need to take our minds off things and step away from social media for a bit.

Los ánimos son escasos, pero aún así seguimos trabajando y tratando de retomar poco a poco las actividades, así que me puse el día lunes a realizar una linda figura en limpiapipas que les quiero mostrar ya que se ve súper tierna, se trata de un Capibara o chigüire como se le llama en Venezuela.

Morale is low, but we are still working and trying to gradually get back to our activities; so, on Monday, I set out to make a cute pipe-cleaner figure that I want to show you because it looks super adorable—it’s a capybara, or chigüire, as it is called in Venezuela.

El Capibara de volvió muy popular entre nosotros hay muchos artículos con esta temática, desde peluches, ropa, cuadernos, bolsos, entre otras cosas, por mi parte me atreví a realizar uno con limpiapipas y es el primero que hago. A continuación les muestro los materiales y el paso a paso.

Capybaras have become very popular among us, and there are many items featuring them—ranging from plush toys, clothing, and notebooks to bags, among other things. For my part, I decided to try making one out of pipe cleaners; it is the first time I have ever made one. Below, I show you the materials and the step-by-step process.

Paso a paso / Step by step

El primer paso que vamos a realizar seleccionar el tamaño de las esferas a utilizar utilicé dos de #4, para la cabeza debes colocar papel aluminio en la parte de la carita ya que esta parte es más ancha, para reforzar puedes colocar adhesivo sobre el aluminio.

The first step is to select the size of the spheres to use; I used two size #4 spheres. For the head, you need to place aluminum foil over the area that will form the face, as that part is wider; to reinforce it, you can apply adhesive over the foil.

Vamos a comenzar a cubrir con limpiapipas beige toda su carita desde la parte trasera, hasta la parte delantera, en este punto vamos a cubrir de color marrón en forma circular, si queda muy grande monte preocupes puedes acomodarlo con limpiapipas beige.

We are going to start covering the entire face with beige pipe cleaners, working from the back to the front; at this point, we will add a circular brown section—if it turns out too large, don't worry, as you can adjust it using the beige pipe cleaners.

Luego seguimos cubriendo pero ahora el cuerpo, vamos a cortar un palillo pequeño lo introducimos entre las dos piezas su pegamos con silicón esto es para sostener mejor nuestra figura.

Next, we continue covering the figure, but now we move on to the body; we cut a small toothpick, insert it between the two pieces, and glue them with hot glue—this helps provide better support for the figure.

Ahora vamos a realizar las patitas superiores e inferiores tomaré un limpiapipas beige y doblamos por la mitad, tomaré una medida de 3 cm y enrollamos dejamos un pequeño espacio para pegar el limpiapipas marrón en la punta y pegamos a la figura.

Now we are going to make the upper and lower legs. I will take a beige pipe cleaner and fold it in half; I’ll measure 3 cm and coil it, leaving a small space at the tip to attach the brown pipe cleaner, and then glue it to the figure.

Ahora con limpiapipas de color negro realicé los ojitos, y con limpiapipas marrón las orejitas. Colocamos los detalles en el centro de la nariz también, luego nos aseguramos de afinar detalles como quitar partes de silicón adheridas al limpiapipas.

Next, I made the eyes using black pipe cleaners and the ears using brown ones. We also added the details to the center of the nose, and then made sure to refine the finish—such as removing any bits of hot glue stuck to the pipe cleaners.

Por último vamos a realizar el bolsito de tortuga que lleva en su espalda, para esto solo debes tomar una mitad de limpiapipas, realizar un círculo pequeño, cortar el sobrante, luego tomaré un limpiapipas y realicé un círculo grande que sería el caparazón.

Finally, we are going to make the little turtle bag it carries on its back; to do this, simply take half a pipe cleaner, form a small circle, and trim off the excess. Then, take another pipe cleaner and form a large circle to serve as the shell.

Luego tomaré dos piezas pequeñas de limpiapipas en cada punta realicé un círculo y unimos en forma de X, esto lo vamos a colocar debajo del caparazón.

Next, I’ll take two small pieces of pipe cleaner, form a circle at each end, and join them in an X shape; we’ll place this underneath the shell.

Tomaré un tercer limpiapipas para realizar el agarradero del bolsito, recortamos y pegamos la tortuga, y listo, así terminé el Capibara, espero les haya gustado y que este tutorial les sirva de ayuda.
