My Actifit Report Card: July 19 2026

Hey Actifitters,

My plan for Sunday was yard work and a run. But once again, after checking the air quality, I wasn't so sure. And all the free AI confirmed that in spite of the significant improvement, the smoke and haze from the wildfires were still causing possibly harmful conditions. So I listened to them and stayed indoor most of the afternoon. Great excuse to watch the World Cup final of course. My favorite team had always been Argentina, since I'm a kid. But seeing Spain growing in strength since their first somewhat failed match, I kind of became a fan. They play the exact style I like, really technical with so much movement off the ball, never letting you play, and just keeping the ball. Anyways, I wasn't disappointed with the result, and their win was very deserved. Seeing Trump humiliating himself once again was a nice bonus...
But we just couldn't do nothing all day! Look at Le Chat clearly showing her disdain for our laziness.

So we finally started our daily walk as usual.

But the temperature being slightly cooler and whatever the official measurement said, the air feeling cleaner, I decided we should go to the bigger forest. First time in weeks, after Kaia's injury. Good to see that last part before the forest.

But even better to enter the forest!

Probably nobody remembers but last time we went there, construction for something was underway. I was worried they'd pave the trails. Luckily they didn't, they just covered part of the trails with wood mulch. It works well in case of heavy rain or when the snow melts, but I feel sometimes it's a bit too spongy.

Of course, that clearing in the middle is still there. There were also a few more trees down because of the storms a few weeks ago, but overall not bad, pretty much the same old forest!

But for Kaia, lots of new scents to find, or maybe old scents she forgot about. All the same, lots of fun!

We kept our walk in the forest fairly short. In spite of the vet confirming steady walks on easy terrain were okay for Kaia, no need to overdo it. We'll hopefully know more when we see the specialist on Thursday. But for now, she remembered it was her job to lead us out at the end.

Well, in spite of a mostly lazy afternoon, we managed to keep it active in the end, with eventually almost 20k steps (never trust the Actifit step count, it's always completely off). Now, according to forecast, air quality and temperature should be much better on Wednesday, let's try and plan a run then.
