My Actifit Report Card: February 4 2025

Hey Actifitters,

We had a little bit of blue sky during the afternoon yesterday, that was of course our cue to start our daily walk. No snow left in the small forest behind the yard, but that sky was beautiful.

No snow but plenty of these icy patches everywhere.

Including this big one near the forest entrance that has gone through at least 2 freezing/thawing cycles.

And now all the trails look like that:

Pretty quickly we saw these two deer. One of them had a problem. Poor guy had something stuck in his antlers, maybe a net of some sorts. It didn't seem to bother him too much fortunately.

More icy rivers deeper in the forest.

Kaia was torn between being cautious and her desire to chase critters. Luckily she didn't fall this time.

So we could walk our normal loops in the forest before heading back home, just a little slower than usually.

Winter is never boring in Michigan! In addition to all this ice we currently have, I hear we might get freezing rain on Thursday too. Good thing I don't have to drive much. Although I do have a few things planned Friday and this week end. I really need to get my winter tires mounted! But of course, as soon as I do, temperatures will go back up, that's inevitable...
