Finding Yourself Before Finding Love

It becomes more difficult to give ourselves totally to God because we tend to focus so much on that relationship. We can idolize our relationships. We build up all these expectations of how they should make us happy.

It also says that the beauty of being single is that you can give your full attention to God, and that’s worth something. Don't belittle yourself just because you have a partner or you are not in a relationship or because happiness is a promise.

Make God the most important thing in your life, both when you're single and when you're in a relationship, to prevent anyone from ever becoming your god.

I do support marriage as a woman.

I believe in healthy relationships but i don't think people should be forced into relationships with social pressure or because they are scared that they will not get another person. People have said a lot to me, "You are not going to find a guy like him, you know. I’ve said to myself “maybe that was my one chance” or “maybe I’m not meant to be with anyone.”

I get asked a lot, “Why don’t you date more?” Why don't you make use of those opportunities? But frankly, I don’t feel the pressure to. I feel if that is something that is meant to happen in my life, then it will, and that is what God wants for me.

I want it but don’t want to force it or keep meeting people for a romantic encounter. I don't believe that is so for me.

It appears that many women base their self-esteem on the number of men they date or the amount of attention they receive. Why not give this a try?

I ask myself sometimes. “Why is it that those experiences always make me feel so burdened?” Am I broken?

But I'm very sure that a woman needs to know herself well before she finds a partner. I'm old, and I don't think the train has left the station.

I think I'm finally at a point where I won't lose myself or make my relationship my idol.

The second time around, they can choose each other proudly, not as impulsive youth, but as two adults with experience and wisdom.

I think that’s far more romantic than love at first sight. Either way, this was a much quicker read than Pride and Prejudice, but you can tell they both really do grow for the better. Their changes are more than skin deep. They are the result of deep interior growth that has taken time to develop.
I hope, as always, you leave feeling a little more inspired.
