Afri-tunes Week #193// Gunaguni (grumble/complain) cover by mamab
Beautiful greetings to all my friends and family of Afri-tunes community. How are we all doing? I believe great. It's another beautiful week where we have the opportunity to share our musical interpretations. My name is mamab and I welcome you to week #193.
On this edition, I went into the archives to fetch a beautiful Hausa song I have known since my junior secondary school days. It is titled "Gunaguni"by Ernest Dades. Gunaguni means grumbling or complaining in English language. The song writer says someone is grumbling while someone is in the grave.
When one does not have a heart of gratitude, it won't be hard to complain. God is doing a whole lot to keep us moving but not everyone sees this. Whenever we want to complain unnecessarily let us remember that our mates, juniors and seniors are in the grave.
I am specifically inviting who likes Hausa songs to sing along 😊.
Lyrics
Na gan wata tana gunaguni
(I saw a lady grumbling)
Wai bata da isashen kaya
(That she doesn't have enough clothes)
Ai ta manta da cewa
(She has forgotten)
Akwai irin ta dayawa a kabari
(There are many like her in the grave)
Na gan wani yana gunaguni
(I saw someone grumbling)
Wai bashi da takalmi
(That he doesn't have shoes)
Gara shi yana da kafafu
(His own is better he has legs)
Wani ma bashi da kafafu
(Someone does not have legs)
Na gan wani yana gunaguni
(I saw someone grumbling)
Wai yana ciwon kai
(That he has headache)
Gara kai kana da kai
(Yours is better you have a head)
Amma yana ciwon ne
(It is just headache)
Chorus
Ga wani yana cikin kabari eh
(See someone in the grave)
Wani na da rai yana gunaguni
(Someone is alive and grumbling)
Lyrics and interpretation were written by me 😊.
