Believe it or not, artificial intelligence has been around for quite some time; it has simply become more visible recently. We have bots, platforms like ChatGPT or Gemini—to name just a few examples—and even increasingly realistic-looking androids that promise to solve every problem in our lives. However, this raises many questions regarding the issues artificial intelligence can cause—and is, in fact, already causing—so we need to examine it closely. For instance, artificial intelligence can translate texts and even generate written content or summaries; while this may seem incredibly useful—especially for students—it is inevitable to worry that we run the risk of losing skills or failing to acquire them in the first place.

Aunque muchos no lo crean la inteligencia artificial ya lleva un buen rato entre nosotros, lo que sucede es que desde hace un tiempo para acá se ha vuelto más evidente, tenemos los bots, plataformas como Chat GPT o Gemini solo por ponerles un ejemplo y hasta androides de apariencia cada vez más realista que prometen resolver cada problema de nuestras vidas, pero a raíz de esto surgen muchas preguntas derivados de problemas que pueden causar y que de hecho ya está causando la inteligencia artificial, pero para eso debemos analizarla a fondo: por ejemplo tenemos el hecho de quela inteligencia artificial puede traducir textos e incluso generar texto o resúmenes, y por muy útil que esto parezca, en especial para los estudiantes, es inevitable pensar que con esto corremos el riesgo de perder o directamente no adquirir habilidades.

I have Gemini installed on my phone, and it has been a huge help to me, especially with my YouTube channels. Thanks to it, I’ve been able to create images and short clips that have helped boost the quality of my videos, and I’ve even used it to help write some of my scripts. So, it’s abundantly clear that artificial intelligence can go a long way in simplifying our lives and elevating the quality of our work; however, there is a vast difference between using it for SUPPORT and using it as an indispensable tool—or, worse yet, as a substitute for human intelligence and capabilities.

When I use Gemini to generate scripts for my YouTube channels, for example, I don't ask it to do all the work; instead, I look for a general idea of the structure—how to channel my thoughts or come up with catchy titles. I handle the rest myself, adding my personal touch, because that’s exactly the point: ensuring the work feels organic and reflects your unique style and essence.

You can use artificial intelligence to complement your work—as a tool—but make sure not to overuse it. Ensure your work is authentic and bears your personal touch—that quality which sets you apart from the rest—and I am certain you will get the most out of it. Don't let AI dominate you; you should be the one to master it.
