The Actor - A Poem
Man in the Junk Artwork by Michelle Hoffmann
Playing the gentlemen
Was never his strong suit,
But who does he think he should be?
The villain at large,
Or the meek little storekeeper —
Whose wife is always alee?
Well, maybe today,
The role he shall play
Will be the man on the junk in the sea.
The role suits him well—
For until today,
The parts he’d played seemed out of key.
