World of Warcraft Season of Discovery

Hello There,

The WoW Classic team dropped some news at BlizzCon 2023 about the new and upcoming Season of Discovery. The gist is, we'll be exploring Azeroth to find new class-altering abilities. It's a neat little twist that hints at what could be a stepping stone towards the much speculated Classic+. Althought people are complaining this is a feature copy pasted from the ascension private servers, I'm willing to give it a shot and see what Blizzard comes up in their own spin of it.

I'm diving in from day one. The idea of playing a retribution or protection Paladin with the new changes sounds fun. It's good to see some fresh content making its way into the classic as well.

This is just the preview of a couple of the new Paladin abilities and I'm looking forward to finding more later this month :-)

The new season kicks off on November 30, 2023, on a separate server within WoW Classic. Interestingly, there's no Public Test Realm (PTR) testing this time, so we're all going in fresh AND blind to the new content.

A highlight is the redesigned Blackfathom Deeps raid for the level 25 endgame, which promises some new challenges with bosses like Baron Aquanis, Ghamoo-ra, and Lady Sarevess. It's something to look forward to, especially for those of us who enjoy teaming up and tackling raids.

In summary, Season of Discovery is bringing a modest wave of new content and gameplay tweaks to WoW Classic. It's not a game-changer, but it's a nice addition to keep things interesting. I'm geared up to explore what's in store, and I hope to see some of you in Azeroth come November 30!
