Corporate soccer !
As I went to my son's soccer game, and watched him play. A few interesting insights emerged.
A soccer game is so similar to what happens at work!
At most points of time when we have the ball, we always have 2 options:
KEEP the ball or PASS it !
As I watched the game, I saw how a few players would keep the ball with them longer, and some trying to score the goal on their own. But the longer they kept the ball the more difficult it became to score a goal. Infact one could hear shouts "pass the ball" but some players were so caught up trying to score the goal on their own, that they could not hear these shouts.
Obviously the high to keep the ball & score a goal on their own was just too enticing, and then taking credit was the icing on the cake.
In some ways keeping the ball is focusing on self and passing the ball is focusing on the team.
