What's Left After The Sweetness.
It's another round of the Qurator Photo Quest with the topic "empty." Interesting. If you'd like to join, read the guidelines here.
Some time last year, I visited my sister and like I always do, I went exploring the backyard. You may wonder why, right? I'll tell you.
The backyard is a treasure trove of fruit trees, herbs and spices. You can't go there and not find a ripe fruit to harvest. And that day, I spotted ripe cocoa pods hanging there.
I hadn’t tasted fresh cocoa in so long and seeing them there had me craving for some. But first, I had to go ask permission if I could pick some, and she gave it.
I hurried back, picked one and opened it right away. I licked every bit of that sweet pulp off the seeds until the pod was completely empty. Honestly, I enjoyed to the last bit. 😋
Cravings satisfied. To the next fruit. Lol.
As I was about tossing the empty shell, something told me to capture it. Honestly, it was just for fun and memory. Never thought I'd be entering it for a contest.
Guess there's something to following your instincts.
And that's a wrap.
Have you ever tasted fresh cocoa before?
