(EN-ES) We are almost extinct (@mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt)
Created with Kittl
Edgar was sitting in an old-fashioned café, writing in his notebook. The pen was quickly sliding over the paper as he drew his list of things he considered almost extinct:
-Courtesy. People are getting more and more irritable and rude.
-Mutual understanding. We live in ideological bubbles unable to listen to each other.
-Contemplation. Life has become more superficial and frantic.
-Privacy. Everything seems to be documented and online.
-Mystery. Everything is sought to be explained scientifically.
-Innocence. Cynicism seems to be the norm now.
When Mike approached the table and read over his shoulder, he said with a smile:
I think you're being a little pessimistic. Those things are not so extinct. We're talking to you and me here, aren't we? That implies courtesy and mutual understanding. And despite the digital world, there is still a lot of privacy and innocence present if we know where to look. Look at those guys at the other table, they are now enjoying a sincere friendship, only the forms have changed...
In the end Edgar and Mike, toasted to what was not yet lost in the world; these guys always ended up sharing a beer, despite their differences.

Estamos hablando tú y yo aquí, ¿no?
