Microsoft defeats Apple and becomes the company with the largest value in the world

Last Friday (29.10) Microsoft overtook Apple and became the company with the largest value in the world by market value.

Earlier in the day, the difference between the two companies was 147 billion Dollars, but it narrowed to $100 billion when the markets closed.

As of Friday at four o'clock, Eastern Time, Apple's market value was $ 2.477.95 trillion, while Microsoft's value was $2.489.57 trillion.

As you may recall, in 2018 Apple's market capitalization reached $1 trillion, the first company in the world to reach this impressive milestone.

But at the height of the corona plague, which led to a shortage of supply and a serious disruption in the markets, Microsoft overtook Apple in market value.

Apple has recovered, returned to the top of the table and in August 2020 became the first American company worth about $2 trillion, an achievement that Microsoft was credited with only last June.

Since then, the share of Microsoft has jumped by about 34%, while since last June the share of Apple has risen by only 20.5%, for comparison.

Microsoft and Apple have been competing for some time for the coveted title of "the company with the largest value in the world," and yet the winner has not yet been decided.
