Beerchain a start-up based in Bavaria, Germany and they are creating the worlds first cryptocurrency that can only be mined by drinking beer, called Beercoin (BCBC).

It is a standard ERC20 Ethereum token and can, as already said, only be mined by scanning QR-Codes inside of beer bottle caps. There are four different types of QR-Codes: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. These different coins all have different values and vary in scarcity.

You can treat Beercoin like a standard crypto (trade, sell, hodl), but also to support breweries by buying Merchandise or beer with the coin directly through the App.

Beercoin is currently in the ICO phase. Further information can be found on the homepage. The whole project is still in the process of being launched, but there are already several breweries that have a contract with the company, so the business principle will work.
