Super beans
I remember my childhood very well and sometimes it seems to me that if you really want to, you can write memoirs. And my memoirs would be devoted to nature and all its component beauty.
Looking at my photo albums today, I found a lot of footage for various photo contests and decided to simply combine the useful with the pleasant - this is to write about my childhood memories that are associated with plants.
I was raised by my grandmother and we lived in the countryside. Beautiful nature and beautiful land, usually such lands are called chernozems.
Everything grows wonderfully on such lands, but there are a lot of worms in them. And where there are worms, there are moles.
And so my grandmother believed that if a lot of legumes were planted in the garden, then the mole would harm the garden less. But the fact that all legumes belong to nitrogen-containing plants, my grandmother did not know, and after the bean pods were collected, the green mass was taken out to the garbage pit.
Beans are not only tasty, but on the roots of plants there are nodules that contain nitrogen and if you compost legumes, you can get an excellent fertilizer.
But I'm not talking about that, but about my memories. I have before my eyes a picture of me, a little girl of about five years old, climbing into a thicket of a bean, picking off the pods and eating an unripe bean with such an appetite.
You know, about five years ago, at the time these photos were taken, I decided to try again to eat a raw bean. And the result - I did not feel the pleasure and appetite with which I ate it in childhood.
But the bean planting did a great job loosening and fertilizing my loamy soils with nitrogen.
And what a beauty!!!
First, it's a solid wall of upright legumes with dark green, glossy foliage.
Secondly, this is the original flowering. Pure white flowers with a black cobalt center and black-green strokes. And the flowers somehow remind me of lion muzzles.
Well, why not beauty, and because it blooms for a very long time. Usually, one plant can have already ripened beans and beautiful flowers.
Now, as they say, the bean is not in trend, and rarely does anyone grow it in their backyards. It’s easier to buy in the market or in a store than to bend your back and weed the beds.
But in decorating plots and including leguminous plants in mixborders, this is now popular.
Looking at the photos, I also wanted to dilute my garden with beautiful legumes.
Look for positive and beauty not only in ornamental plants, but also add a touch of creativity from the garden.
I wish you all good luck and beautiful garden plots.
