Can EOS be the next ethereum??

The way EOS is scaling and considering the media attraction it is getting, it looks like reaching 10$ at the end of december, or maybe even earlier. EOS has already reached almost 3$ and a market cap of 1.5 billion USD.
The major factor in its favour is the person behind it, Dan Larimer, who is also Steemit and BitShares co-founder, and the media attraction it is getting, which is also mostly due to Dan. People are already marketing it as the next ethereum.
