French team monthly report (October)
Hello beloved community!
This is the second report that aims to provide further statistics and insights about what the French team has been working on and what are the possible barriers that were preventing further growth inside the team.
Table of content
1 – Contributions.
2 – Statistics.
3 – Rewards.
4 – Tracking sheet of the team.
5 – Les projets en cours 😅.
6 – Standpoint.
Contributions
In this month, we've had a total of 13 contributions from 2 active users(@avoine &
@yassinebad), there is recruiting window in progress and there is only one application submitted by a French native although I was contacted several times by many users asking for help about how to be an approved translator on Davinci.
So, this will be my open letter to the French community on Steemit. we would love to see more and more people applying for the role of translator or Language moderator (because I'd like to start translating too 😂) and we want to see this team growing further.
Back to business, @yassinebad has translated a total of 6758 words in the projects Swarmops & ReactOS while
@ahmedess had a much lower count, a little bit closer to 5000 words.
Consequently, that would give us an average of 825 words/contribution which is higher than the previous average, and this thing is very promising because as of now utopian is radically changing its way of distributing the rewards, and that's why from now on my team will aim for a +1000 words posts and also I had encouraged them to conduct more efforts into their presentations because up until now I have never rated, not a single post with 'Good' in the formatting field of the questionnaire.
Statistics
The 2 posts that were skipped by the utopian bot are due to the new policies of the utopian V2, which requires that only higher scored contributions are eligible for an upvote. In fact, the members of my team are conducting a lot of time and effort into achieving a higher quality translation, However the questionnaire doesn't consist of the translation field only, and that's why I had sensitized my team to excel on their presentations too, the current articles are not bad as they contain all the info required by the official template but they are not "Good" I check regularly other members articles and I can clearly distinguish "Good" from "Average" 🙃 .
Rewards
The exact reward for @yassinebad during the last month is 170sp & 136.8 sbd.
And for @ahmedess is equal to 116.5sp & 93.9 sbd.
This data was gathered from steemd.com which is a service that provides the historical data of every transaction conducted on Steemit since the creating of every account.
Tracking sheet
A few weeks ago, I was asked by our CM @rosatravels to create a google sheet that tracks the progress of the French team, this task was already accomplished and I'm constantly updating it. This sheet provides a reference for all the Managers and the possible new translators to have a general idea about work/reward/projects that the team is working on.
And here is a link to the sheet.
Ongoing projects
Swarmops (completed : 100% translated - 71% proofread).
Swarmops is one of a kind project, with a special and unique utility, it provides open source tools for any kind of organizations to manage their accounting and bookkeeping or any finance-related services without referring to any third party with the possibility to integrate Bitcoin as a mean of payment.

Verdaccio (completed : 75% translated - 70% proofread).
Verdaccio is a lightweight private npm proxy registry built in Node.js .
Verdaccio helps you keep your privacy, so all packages that you publish are private and only accessible based on your configuration. It also catches all the dependencies by demand and speeds up installations in local or private networks.

@ahmedess.
ReactOS (completed : 60% translated - 13% proofread).
ReactOS is a free and open-sourced operating system based on the Windows NT architecture, it provides support for the applications that already exist, and an alternative to the current operating systems that dominate the market.
Although, its current usage is mostly designed for programmers to expand and improve on. however, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to use it, and in its final state it will be a consumer-friendly Operating System. If you've used Windows before, you'll find yourself in a familiar environment with ReactOS.

Conclusion & standpoint
There is currently a big debate on Discord about whether or not the actual questionnaire does cover all the necessary details related to a translation contribution, the debate was initiated when 2 or more of the LM were assigning divergent difficulties to the same projects. thus, the according score of each contribution would be insanely different.
In my opinion, it is not about the questionnaire because clearly with this new voting system of utopian some posts are going to be missed as it happened with my team and in comparison to other teams we can easily find that 2 posts with the same effort conducted, but one got upvoted and the other got rejected simply because one LM is being generous to his/her team. so it is not only about adding more fields to the questionnaire but it is about reaching a consensus about the difficulty of every part in every project and not only the difficulty of the project as a whole.
