observing the cracks in the pavement.
A sense of familiarity, broken yet held together.
Her heart pumping fire, rushing through her veins,
But onwards she must go, no more tightening of her reins.

A grin she wore, to please, to overcome
No more hiding, time to thaw out the numb.
With her head held high, and eyes wide open, she could still see the cracks, but was no longer broken.
