Could your computer be running services without your knowedge?

While most of us use NAT routers to connect to the internet, the NAT router itself is the only thing that could be running services. In fact it has to. It must have a web service so you can customize it. For example, you should be able to customize your home network by logging into your network router but nobody should be even able to see the login screen if they are connected to the Internet from somewhere outside your home!

Some users have found routers that have this flaw. The ability to connect to it from the Internet is a serious concern. First you should find out if you are vulnerable. If there are other flaws in the login system, this NAT router may allow hackers to take control of the router and later attack your other computers that are connected to the Internet through it.

Port Scanning

Go on over to steemfiles.com/standalone.php. Here you can find out whether your NAT router is letting people connect to it. There are 65,536 ports for the IP address of your NAT router. If you find there are no open ports, this is probably good news. Unless you want to run a server at home, you want to see the "No Open Ports" message.
