Food in the Philippines

One of my favorite things about visiting family is the authentic filipino food they have prepared and waiting for you. There's nothing better than home made meals.

Tropical fruit is the best!! I don't know how tropical bananas are but mangoes are by far one of my favorites, especially fresh.

I finally got to try the infamous Jollibee. I feel like it's one of those things that you had to grow up with to really love. The food isn't bad, but it's not something I just have to have or would choose over other places to try. But when this mascot comes out, look out haha everyone swarms right to it

I got a sampler type meal just to try a few different things. And of course, as everything there, it comes with rice.

I know they use two utensils when they eat but I found it surprising that they use utensils for fried chicken. I almost felt disrespectful eating mine with my hands.

Then there's Chow King. I really liked their food. Two of my favorites here. Lumpia (the eggrolls) and siopao (pronounced shoe-pow) it's like a steamed dumpling. Halo halo is one of my favorite desserts. It's like shaved ice with fruit and ice cream.

Here's an up close picture of the halo halo. I could eat these 24/7

This is also at Chow King, but they also serve it at the McDonald's there. Rice, eggs and longanisa. It's like a sweet sausage. Delicious breakfast.
