Quick easy deck built in less than 6 hours.
This was a simple, effective, and quick deck to construct. Firstly it was a very nice blank canvas to build upon. Previously an Indian sandstone patio had been constructed here and was no longer wanted by the client for various reasons, which had already been lifted and taken away from site. This left the mortar bed exposed which we were building the deck upon. The materials chosen were the millboard smoked oak deck board, built with their plas-pro frame and post framework system. The framework consisted of a an outer ring, with inner joists spaced every 400mm. They were each supported by a number of 100mm posts which were concreted into the ground with a bag of postfix per post.
Once the framework was in, it was a simple case of screwing the deck boards down using the 3mm spacers provided, along with fixing the edging strip and facer boards. Simple. All done and dusted in less than 6 hours. Due to the fast drying post fix, it was all set, and ready to be used straight away.
This deck and decking frame never had a single strand of wood anywhere, it was all built using composite materials. Therefore it will outlast anything built using any of todays timber products. Millboard themselves also maximise the use of recycled material in their product manufacturing, and all of their products use no natural timber and minimal raw materials, so it is all completely sustainable.
As usual any questions feel free to ask.
