WIN 2 HSBI shares and 150 ECENCY points TODAY! First Goal Scorer + Correct Score Comp. No. 458 : EPL - Newcastle v Liverpool - 27th August 2023

Well, a reasonable restart to our little game saw three old players join in and one of them actually won something! Full details at the end, of course!

A quick note about the comment upvotes, I'm waiting for my main account to build up the resource credits so I can delegate more to this account and hit the 0.02c dust threshold for votes so bear with me a few days.

So today,

First Goal Scorer will win 1 HSBI share which if not won, will rollover until it is won, and
Correct Score will win 150 Ecency Points which again, if not won will rollover.

Anyway, let's get on with it. Todays' game is the late kick-off in the Premier League and a rather intriguing clash between...

nathen007Hive account@nathen007 's Prediction

My prediction is :-
Newcastle 1 : 2 Liverpool
Salah to score the first goal

The Toon absolutely burst out of the blocks on the opening day with that 5-1 slaughter of Villa but any delusions of staying at the top as City then clasily took them apart the following week with Newcastle having little response to the well drilled and elegent City side. Let's not write them off in this match though. Last season they deservedly finished in a Champions League place and a place above Liverpool.

But do they really have the talent to match Liverpool...

...who seem to have a reborn Mo Salah firing on all of his silky cylinders once again, Diaz on 2 goals from 2 games, and who easily dispatched Bournemouth, despite the loss of big money new signing MacAllister after just 58mins for a red card.

My prediction is a little bit cautious, as remember some of the high scoring classics between these two teams over the years!

Simply write the name of the FIRST GOALSCORER, and the CORRECT SCORE as a comment. The competition closes 5 minutes before kick-off which is 16:30 BST (UTC+1)

In the first goal scorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90 mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will rollover if it doesn't get won. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! Don't forget, you can't choose the same prediction as me! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. My game, my decision is final.

Upvotes and Reblogs are NOT necessary to join in but gratefully received.

And the Winners Were...

No one got the first goalscorer which was Raheem Sterling but congrats to anderssinhoHive account@anderssinho who correctly guessed the 3-0 scoreline and takes home 150 ecencyHive account@ecency points!

And just about wraps things up for today. bedtime for me after a nailbiting end to the Leeds game in which we beat this morning's table toppers, Ipswich 3-4 so a first win and I can go to sleep happy!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and dont forget to get your entries in early.

Marching On Together
