We Should Also Not Forget

There are several senior officials in the Islamic Republic that are actually from an Israeli background. But if this – if this situation changed, like Turkey could also move in and try to support armed groups, like Azeri armed groups. And we should also not forget when there was a Kurdish republic, independent republic supported by the Soviets in 1946, I think.

There was also an Azeri republic supported by the Soviets. And they had some problems with each other, because there's one issue, is that there are some towns where you have mixed Azeri and Kurdish populations. So the Azeri Republic and the Mahabad Republic, sometimes also called the Kurdistan Republic, didn't really like each other.

But in the end, when the Soviets pulled out their support, then both of them collapsed. So I think it's very interesting, if that's true. And also on another level, so before the U.S.-Israeli offensive started with the attack on the Islamic Republic, there was also a lot of reports on flight radar of a NATO plane flying over Turkey, close to the Iranian border.

So that plane was like a surveillance plane. So it was not that – it was not there for nothing. So I mean, Turkey can say they are not involved in the operation against Iran, but there was that big NATO plane on flight radar.

And I think Emrah probably knows much more about this, because I started to get difficulties with following everything that was going on. But I think there was also a sort of discussion about that in the Turkish parliament, that there were some Turkish parliament members were worried about that NATO plane, and that they should not be involved in this regional war. I think it was some right-wing Turkish fringe groups that were talking about that in the parliament, and some other ultranationalists.
